Our Trip to Maui (2008)--Day 8

Another relaxing day in the sun for us; it's taken a week but I think that I've finally slowed down to the point where I can really enjoy myself. It doesn't usually take this long and I'm at a loss as to why it's different this time.
Bubba Gump's
We ate at Bubba Gump's in Kona last year and it was a fun experience. The signs which you control "Stop, Forrest, Stop" if you want the waiter's attention and "Run, Forrest, Run" if you're okay are a nice idea, far better than waiting to make eye contact with the waiter. Jojo (our waiter) was entertaining and personable. Again, we lucked out and got a table at an oceanside window. We compared this place to Kimo's, for some reason..the atmosphere wasn't quite as mellow, it was somewhat louder, but the service and food are top-notch, actually better than Kimo's (in our opinion). My New York strip was great and Patty thought her Shrimpin' Dippin' Broth was equally good. This was one of our best dining experiences during this trip
We were starting to run low on a few items (chips, Gatorade and juice) so after dinner we made another trek to Longs' Drugs and Safeway. I'm not impressed with Longs Drugs from a service and helpfullness standpoint. Hopefully they can get a Walgreen's there soon to create a little competition.
