Our Trip to Maui (2009)--Day 12

Seven years smokefree today! It's a great feeling and every day I'm grateful I made the decision to quit smoking. After breakfast, I once again headed north in search of the Perfect Coastal Picture. Forget it - like yesterday, I found rain just as I reached Napili, forcing me to turn back to Lahaina. After a long walk on our beach, we kicked back for the rest of the morning and afternoon.
Kobe Japanese Steakhouse
Tonight's dinner choice was a return trip to Kobe Japanese Steakhouse. We had enjoyed our meal there last year, and tonight's meal was once again a winner for both of us. Seated at the U-shaped table with several other people, chatting with them (and the cook) while we watch the cook prepare our shrimp appetizer, vegetables, rice (we both had the fried rice instead of white rice) and our meat, was a real treat. Patty had the Teriyaki Chicken, I once again had the Sukiyaki Steak. The whole meal seemed to be over much quicker than it had last year, but we still walked out of the place satisfied.
The customary shopping along Front Street as we walked back to the hotel resulted in my buying a new cap and t-shirt. Once back at the hotel, I found a nice, engaging Mexican couple from San Diego in the hot tub. It's their first trip to Hawai`i, and it's always fun to hear first impressions from visitors who aren't "used" to Maui. It was a nice chat to end another great day.
