Hiking, Pictures
Today was an "on our own" day; I had intended to drive out to the Waianae Coast and look for photo ops, but decided to go the opposite direction, towards Sea Life Park. This is one incredible drive to take; unfortunately, as the driver I had to pay attention to the road and not the various overlooks along the way. The area just past Koko Head and Hanauma Bay is especially picturesque. Eventually I ended up hiking the Makapu`u Trail, something we'd driven past numerous times in the past but had never hiked. It was a fairly easy hike on a paved trail. The various vantage points were nothing short of stunning. How could I have missed this trail before??

In the meantime, Patty decided to join our guests on a catamaran ride put on by the Outrigger Reef, and enjoyed the tour quite a bit, despite getting wet from waves splashing up onto the boat.
Longhi's Ala Moana
Once again, driving was brutal as we headed to the Ala Moana Mall and Longhi's for dinner. Walking there probably would have been faster! But the drive was worth the dining experience. Patty had the Steak Longhi, which consists of slices of New York steak drizzled with a basil butter combination. Fantastic! I had the Arrabiata which would have been better had I used the included crushed chili pepper in moderation. But I was a glutton for spice, of course, and the dish suffered as a result.
Walking around Ala Moana Mall after dinner, we found nothing of any real interest other than a large number of overly-pricey stores. Back to the room and asleep by 11:30.
