Our Caribbean Cruise (2011)--Day 5
4/21/2011
Out of bed at 5:30 a.m. and could already see the lights of Oranjestad, Aruba fast approaching. Following a light breakfast of just a banana and a granola, we got everything packed up and ready to take on our Best Of Aruba tour--Seapass card, ID (which we later learned we did not need), tour tickets, camera, camcorder. Aruba is a nice island, not very hilly, and there are tons of colors in the various building and houses. This seems typical for a Caribbean island. While seated in an enclosed area waiting for our tour guide, I decided to do some quick shopping and made my first t-shirt purchase of the trip. Only $5!
The tour, a 3 1/2 hour narrated bus ride around Aruba, was a lot of fun and very informative. Shot close to an hour of video and took around 70 pics. One of the nice things about this tour was it took place early enough in the morning to allow us to get back onboard the ship by noon. So, we went directly to the Windjammer for a lunch feast.
A great sunset tonight! The burn on my forehead is starting to peel.
