Our Caribbean Cruise (2011)--Day 7
4/23/2011
After a rough night of sleep, awoke to find the ship nearing Cartagena, Colombia. This is a large city of around a million people featuring an impressive, modern skyline. The plan was to head ashore, walk around and shop. The plan was based on our belief that the ship would be docked near an area of retail development. This was not the case. What little shopping exists nearby the ship pretty much sucked. The closest decent shopping was a ten-minute cab ride away, and I didn't see any cabs around! So, back to the ship we went, wishing we had booked an activity at this destination. The nice thing about staying on ship when in a port is you pretty much have the run of the place, with most folks on shore partaking in various activities. No lines at the Windjammer, plenty of lawn chairs near the pool to relax on. It's nice and relaxing, and this is what we ended up doing.
Other than that, nothing to report today. Dinner at the Windjammer, set sail, sunset, sleep.
