A Tribute to Kimo (preface)
3/20/2025
We lost Kimo to the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, February 28 after a short battle with liver and splenic cancer. It was a blessing he didn't suffer for long but the quickness of his demise from this disease surprised us a bit. He was 13 and had lived a good, long life as a rescue dog we had found in July 2012 at Chequamegon Humane Association in Ashland.
This tribute will consist of 14 blog entries, each one dedicated to a particular year, starting with 2012 and ending with 2025. Most entries will be pulled from Facebook posts I had made at that time along with pictures of Kimo (and later, with his sister Kona who we had rescued in February 2022)
This hurts to write. He was a huge part of our lives and my best friend for 12 1/2 years. We will always miss him and always think of him. Some day we'll be left with just happy memories of his life, love and antics. I'm hopeful these blog entries will be a start of that process.
