Our Trip To Maui (2016)--Day 6
5/19/2016
It was another early morning, up at 5:30. Breakfast at the center island, coffee on the lanai. This ritual has become solidified and it's similar to past trips, except Patty now goes to Island Fitness very early each morning, leaving me to walk the beach solo. We get up, I have breakfast, take in the early morning light with coffee on the lanai, drive Patty to her workout, come back to the hotel and walk the beach. It's more than satisfactory. It's awesome.
Only a two-mile walk this morning--I got a late start and my ankle was bothering me a little. Back in the room, I relaxed until 9:30 and then hit the sun for two hours. There are some clouds today but it's mainly sunny so I don't get overheated. Patty came back from her workout and took her floatie out in the ocean while I relaxed in the sun.
We ate lunch, napped, then headed out on foot at 4:15 to Down The Hatch. I really wanted to like this place, and my lackluster dinner was probably my fault since I chose the Kalbi Rib plate lunch. But I don't like going somewhere we you order at the counter; I prefer to be waited on at my table or booth. Service is adequate, nothing more. The Lava Lava shrimp appetizer we shared was excellent. What we paid (over $50) wasn't worth the experience.

A long session of T-shirt shopping followed, and then we went to Maui Hands to see if any of their prints were worth purchasing. They were not. Pricey! I believe we're better off doing an 18x24 print of one of my personal Hawaiian pictures and getting them matted and framed at some place such as the Frame Corner Gallery in Downtown Duluth.
Back at the hotel, we watched Hawaii Five-O and were both crashed out by 9:30.
